This woman has a beautiful voice and is a brilliant lyricist. I have been in love with this song ever since I first heard it a few months back. It’s so smooth, lovely, and romantic. Plus the lyrics to La vie en rose speak of love and how it can make life seems so pink, rosey and wonderful when you are in it. Being in love can make a person feel alive and it truly changes your life like nothing else.
I know it may sound crazy, but even though I can hardly remember any of the french I learned as a child, just by listening to the melody, I understood what this song was about. The idea of seeing life in rosy hues (la vie en rose) comes across in the graceful way Piaf carries this song.
